Moser Plaza

JOB NAME:
Moser Plaza
LOCATION:
Naperville, IL
ARCHITECT:
Arete 3 Ltd.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Moser required a larger building to house their corporate headquarters but was adamant in their need to remain true to their local roots. Illinois Masonry Corp., along with the other construction crews on the job, dealt with the challenge of construction through the winter months. The architect's solution was a pre-cast building, clad in brick masonry that would seamlessly integrate into downtown Naperville. The pre-cast building allowed for shelter as the construction team worked through the winter months, but also allowed for brick masonry that echoed the surrounding historic structures and addressed Moser's commitment to honoring the character of their hometown.

JOB NAME:
PacTrust Four-Story Office Building
LOCATION:
Vernon Hills, IL
ARCHITECT:
Timothy Morgan & Assoc.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is the third office building Illinois Masonry Corp. has completed for FCL Construction. Due to lead-times on precast wall panels the client has been building with masonry for all their office buildings located in Vernon Hills, IL. This project utilized "Ballpark Smooth Texture" modular size face brick by Robinson Brick Co. This is the same brick used on the new Ballpark in Colorado the Coors Stadium. The architect did a superb job with blending in this modern designed masonry building within an office park with a lot of buildings with steel, glass, and precast wall panels. The Ballpark brick coloring does a great job making this structural steel load bearing building and glass feel warm and inviting for those employees entering.

United Auto Workers

JOB NAME:
United Auto Workers
LOCATION:
Lincolnshire, IL
ARCHITECT:
The Henzner Corp.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Masonry elements of this building were given special attention and significant effort was directed towards creating the bold expression of strength and stability that the UAW sought to convey. Through the application and execution of stone massing, crisp edge delineation, and diverse approaches with masonry detailing that accentuated textural differences, the materials synthesize the imagery of many individuals working together to compose a solid and sustaining organization. Large smooth expanses of stone are juxtaposed against the rustic dry stack masonry to offer a connection between modern masonry application and old world approaches. The result is a complex yet cohesive design that links traditional masonry detailing with modern architectural material and systems to develop a building that is unique from every perspective and not able to be digested from one view. As is the nature of the UAW, there is always more to this building than meets the eye
